Industrial relations and social dialogue – a key contribution to a socially just energy transition

As the national partner for Germany, wmp consult took part from 2022 to 2024 in a transnational research project carried out by trade union-affiliated institutes in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia, with financial support from the European Commission. The research activities (case studies, regional workshops, national reports) were coordinated by the Fondazione Di Vittorio. Key findings from the eight country reports, along with comparative analyses and policy recommendations, are now available in compendium published by Edward Elgar Publishing.

The chapter on the German energy transition, authored by Eckhard Voss and Katrin Vitols, focuses on the ‘coal compromise’ negotiated in 2020 and the ‘Revierwende’ project coordinated by the DGB.
